I do not want to be a motivational speaker

I want to get things done.
And I want to guide people by sharing knowledge on how to get things done.
So, I became a motivational speaker.
Let us talk about a project team, it can easily be transferred to any place of work.
When you are not empowered to commence or completely decide, this is where you see key talent become demotivated.
It is important for retention that the project sponsor empowers their team to call the shots and move to a budget and deadline. Buffer your budget sure, but give them one.
Having to seek approvals for each dollar spent is seen as red tape, red tape as you probably have guessed is another demotivating notion.
Using acronyms, using jargon, to not allow clear communication is another way you create the sense of demotivation, if I cannot freely put my hand up and ask a clarifying question, because I do not understand what is being communicated, or feel free enough from prejudice to do so again I will feel demotivated. It is a human trait, I am sure there is a science behind it, but I know myself that I zone out of conversation if there is no two-way communication opportunity to follow what is being communicated.
Personality types when it comes to empowerment, let’s start with myself, if you have read Surrounded by Idiots by Thomas Erikson, I will use the colours referenced in the book.

I am a red and depending on the exercise of my skills and communication required yellow will increase and take over. Yes, a director that is inspirational when required who would have known. I leverage my yellow skills when I need to be creative and be out of the box, no limits. And my red directs a straight line to the goal post.
It is always about the goal post.
What I want to also clarify is that this is learned behaviour and skills that have pushed me in this direction.
Would you believe I was a Green at the start of my career, emotionally driven and didn’t want to upset anyone which in turn had made me indecisive. Down to what we were having for lunch.
I do like when I have a blue on my team is great within the details of the plans and measurements and very detailed parts, blue person feels success only when all risks are taken into consideration and the structure and details have been captured and things are done correctly, whilst I am driving us to the finish line, someone who holds up the mirror for reality checks is great. However, that being said, there is such thing as too much risk mitigation that it doesn’t allow traction, that is a whole other conversation I might need to touch on in another post.
A green personality need to feel, and everyone else to feel apart of "it" the objective for them all all cross the finish line together. They do not want chaos or anyone to feel left out, they feel success when we all work as a team and get through it all TOGETHER with no confrontations. They would like compliments, it acts as a hug for them, but do not touch them. They are still introverts.
Obviously Covid has us not touching anyone for a while now, you might want to check on your yellow colleagues, they do not mind a cuddle every now and then.
